Dunvegan House Ullapool

Welcome to Dunvegan House, Ullapool!

John and Pat Macleod, who own Dunvegan, are a local family who still live within Ullapool. Dunvegan was built by John's father and used as the family house for many years. The house itself is a traditional highland family home, though has expanded and modernised over the years to offer a spacious and pleasant self-catering holiday home in the centre of our beautiful village, famous for its scenery, activities, food and hospitality.

If you are looking for a base to explore the region, Dunvegan is well situated for experiencing Ullapool and the Highland environment and countryside.

Why stay here?

  • House
We have tried to retain the character of Dunvegan House whilst making it comfortable and welcoming with modern facilities. We are not a large holiday company but a local family who take pride in our village and the home we offer to visitors.
  • Village
The house is centrally located - next door to Ullapool Museum and within minutes walk of the beach, harbour, shops, bars and facilities. Guests can park their car and relax for the week or choose to explore the surrounding Highlands. The village offers a selection of attractions and events throughout the year but also a great retreat to relax away from it all too.
  • Highlands
Ullapool is a wonderful location for exploring the surrounding Highlands. Ullapool harbour has boats running cruises to the Summer Islands and a ferry service that links to the Isle of Lewis (3 sailings a day in summer time allow for day trips and island exploring) There are hills and mountains to walk, climb and cycle within easy drive of Ullapool, along with some wonderful coastline, beaches, glens and villages. The geology, views and wildlife are famous throughout the world.

Testimonials

Nigel Macrae, Isleworth

I have now returned to Dunvegan on three occasions with my family and love the house and Ullapool. The house is well maintained and welcoming and offers all we need to spend a wonderful week away in one of the best spots in Britain. See you again soon we hope!
